Derived from Plautdietsch, a German Mennonite dialect, “Aumsel” means Blackbird—a symbol of change, intuition, and mystery. The brand was founded by Johanna and Gabriel, who drew inspiration from their personal histories and shared love for fragrance, culture, and freedom.
For Johanna, blackbirds symbolize the unbreakable bond she shared with her late mother—a connection that lives on through scent. For Gabriel, birds represent movement, freedom, and the power of the unknown. Together, they crafted Aumsel to embody these values.
